USPAP Compliant Art Appraiser with Blue-Chip Gallery Background:
After earning her Master’s degree in 1998, Jennifer Strasbaugh spent the early part of her career working in the blue-chip gallery market. She served as Director of the Thomas Segal Gallery, a private fine arts gallery and a member of the Art Dealers Association of America.
During her nearly 15-year tenure with Segal Gallery, she gained expertise in the artworks of some of the most important mid-century artists, such as Pablo Picasso, Jasper Johns, Cy Twombly, and Robert Rauschenberg. The gallery also had a long-standing primary-market relationship with painter and colorist, Wolf Kahn.
Simultaneously, she was completing a Professional Certificate from the George Washington University in Appraising the Fine and Decorative Arts. She has been an independent fine arts appraiser since 1995, and Candidate, American Society of Appraisers since 2003. All of her appraisals are USPAP compliant, with the appraiser’s most recent completion of the 2024 USPAP in Summer of 2025.
In addition to her appraisal work, since 2009 she has been developing and teaching traditional and online courses for Stevenson University in Baltimore. Her current courses include Art 106: An Introduction to Art History. In addition, she teaches MFA candidates at Towson University, including Art Topics 783/Graduate Seminar, ARTH 370/570: Art Looting, and ARTH 403/603: The Care and Handling of Objects.
